Routine Services

Pinkham Equine vets provide all types of routine services including vaccinations, dental examinations (including routine and advanced dental care), microchipping, and assessment of minor ailments and wounds. We can also advise on worming programmes and provide other management advice.

Routine veterinary check-ups are essential for maintaining a horse’s health. By staying on top of these routine services, you can catch any potential issues early and prevent more serious health problems.

Minor surgical procedures such as wolf teeth removal or castration can also be performed at your yard.

The principle vaccination that horses are required to have for competitions purposes is equine influenza, which is frequently combined with tetanus. It is your responsibility to ensure that your horse or pony’s vaccination record complies with the rules of the relevant sporting governing body under which you are competing (e.g. FEI, British Eventing, British Showjumping, British Dressage, The Pony Club or British Riding Clubs). There are slight differences in rules between organisations, so please do check the current rule book. Any lapse in the vaccination history (even by a few days) could result in your horse being unable to compete or penalties being imposed.

See our news story about vaccination interval changes from 1st January 2024.
